I drove down to Wildwood, N. J. intending to do a sketch of this lighthouse from the ocean side. But trees and shrubbery had grown to such a height that that front of the building was hardly visible. So I settled on this view from the small parking lot beside the lighthouse. Within the building is a modest museum housing a history and artifacts of the lighthouse. Flexibility is a lesson one learns early on. If I couldn't get a painting of the front of the Lighthouse, then I had to change my expectations. The alternative view still made for an interesting composition. Sometimes a "plan B" is more effective than the original idea.
